Tracksider Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 24, 2026 • Published by OMYY Media (Business ID: 3395333-4, Finland)
1. Core Privacy Principles
At Tracksider (operated by OMYY Media, Business ID: 3395333-4, Finland), we believe photography tools must respect your absolute privacy. We do not sell your personal data, we do not build advertising profiles, and we strictly minimize data collection across both our mobile applications and web platform.
2. Real-Time GPS & Location Processing
The Tracksider mobile application accesses your device’s Location Services (NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription on iOS and ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION on Android) solely to:
- Orient your current position on circuit vector maps and satellite terrain.
- Calculate walking distance and compass heading toward chosen photospots.
- Execute real-time astronomical solar angle (sun azimuth & golden hour) calculations.
3. Camera Access & QR Code Scanning (Field Notepad)
The Tracksider mobile application requests access to your device’s Camera (NSCameraUsageDescription on iOS and android.permission.CAMERA on Android) exclusively when you initiate the Scan QR Code feature in the Field Notepad.
- Sole Purpose: Optical detection and decoding of encrypted Tracksider Field Note QR codes (containing the note identifier and client-side decryption key).
- No Media Recording or Capture: Video feed frames are processed instantaneously and ephemerally in volatile memory by Apple Vision / Google ML Kit frameworks. No photos, videos, or raw camera streams are recorded, saved to device storage, or transmitted over any network.
- Optional Access: Camera permission is strictly optional. If denied, you can import notes manually by entering or pasting the Note ID and Secret Key.
4. Offline Storage & Local Sandboxed Caching
When you download circuit bundles via the Offline Vault, data (including vector MBTiles, turn photospots, and logistical markers) is saved directly to your device’s local SQLite database and secure sandboxed file system. No personal photos or files from your gallery are scanned or extracted without explicit user action (e.g. saving exported telemetry graphics).
5. Website Telemetry & Cookies (GDPR Compliance)
On our marketing website (tracksider.app), we utilize Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-WNC4GGT911) to track aggregated, anonymized usage metrics (e.g., page views, button clicks, geographic region).
In full accordance with European Union GDPR standards and the ePrivacy Directive, Google Analytics telemetry is only activated after you grant explicit consent via our Cookie Banner. You can modify your preferences at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage.
6. Your Data Protection Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Finnish Data Protection Act, and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you retain the right to:
- Request details regarding any data stored in connection with customer support inquiries or cloud note relays.
- Request immediate deletion of any support email communications or contact records.
- Opt out of any optional telemetry collection at any time.
7. Children's Privacy
Tracksider is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
